Mike Males, Principal Investigator, YouthFacts.org| March 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Back in 2020, 51-year-old alcoholic, arsonist, and police car enthusiast\u00a0Gabriel Wortman<\/a>\u00a0carried out multiple shootings, killing 22 people in Nova Scotia in 2020 \u2013 the deadliest shooting rampage in Canadian history.<\/p>\n Strangely, no one argued there was something terribly wrong with middle-aged men, or blamed them for being straight or buying booze, accelerants, and used cop cars.<\/p>\n October 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n The Canadian government since\u00a0banned 2,500 types of assault weapons<\/a>, including the dozens America\u2019s worst mass shooter, 64-year-old heavy drinker and gambler\u00a0Stephen Paddock<\/a>, assembled.<\/p>\n Paddock fired more than 1,000 rounds from his hotel room perch at a Las Vegas music festival, killing 60 people, wounding at least 413, and causing 450 more injuries in the ensuing panic.<\/p>\n Recalls satirist\u00a0Kinky Friedman\u2019s tune<\/a>\u00a0memorializing 1966\u2019s University of Texas Tower shooter\u00a0Charles Joseph Whitman<\/a>, whose rampage took a leisurely 96 minutes to gun down 45 people with his .36 Magnum, killing 14 (47 total casualties, adding two knife murders back home). No one suggested a crisis among ex-Eagle Scouts, ex-Marines, or men with flat-top crewcuts, though Friedman did warn, \u201cThere\u2019s still a lot of Eagle Scouts around.\u201d<\/p>\n Also, \u201cWho are we to say the boy\u2019s insane?\u201d You see, nothing much changed in half a century except that Paddock used far more lethal AR10\/15 bumpstocked riflery and took a mere 10 minutes to inflict 473 gunshot and 927 total casualties in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n Strangely, no one argued there\u2019s a crisis among aging adults or called for older people to be banned from guns, drinking, and gambling.<\/p>\n No one, despite this unsettling fact: Paddock\u2019s gunfire killed and injured more people\u00a0in 10 minutes<\/em>\u00a0than are killed and injured in all\u00a0school shootings<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a05 years<\/em>. That shocker is one gun-rights and gun-control lobbies alike absolutely ban from ever being mentioned in American media and political forums.<\/p>\n February 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Now, a mass shooting by Canadian 18-year-old\u00a0Jesse Van Rootselaar<\/a>\u00a0killing 9 and injuring 25 is generating the next predictable round of sweeping generalizations.<\/p>\n It must have been her\u00a0\u201ctransgender identification\u201d<\/a>\u00a0(right wingers, delighting in misgendering, called her \u201chim\u201d). Ban the\u00a0100,000 Canadians who identify as transgender<\/a>, the large majority under age 25. They\u2019re all guilty!<\/p>\n It must have been that she was \u201c\u2018addicted to gore and violence web sites<\/a>\u201d (mainstream\/liberal\/Leftists). Surely blaming video games and \u201caddictive\u201d social media will be next. Ban 5 million young Canadians from everything: gender transitions, social media, Grand Theft Auto, whatever pops into aging heads must be \u201cthe problem.\u201d<\/p>\n Fun for all!<\/p>\n Don\u2019t bother us with details<\/strong><\/p>\n The tragedy couldn\u2019t have anything to do with the slowly emerging facts that Jesse\u2019s family was bizarrely \u201cnomadic\u201d and moved every few months, that her parents were\u00a0bitterly divorced<\/a>\u00a0and estranged, that authorities had seized firearms from her home and then for no apparent reason returned them, that she had dropped out of school years earlier and been repeatedly detained for mental health troubles, that\u00a0her mother<\/a>\u00a0was a \u201cconservative-leaning libertarian\u201d who declared of anti-transgender bigots, \u201cDo you have any idea how many kids are killing themselves over this kind of hate?\u201d \u2026 and more to be discovered.<\/p>\n Complications! No fun!<\/p>\nIdeological bigots make ONE shooter the poster for Canada\u2019s 100,000 transgender individuals and 5 million teens\/young adults long before facts are known.<\/h6>\n
